Villa Loci
Villa Loci stems from the desire to create an architecture deeply connected to its context. Designed for a professional photographer, the villa combines contemporary forms, local materials, and building traditions, seeking authenticity rather than spectacle. Red stone, wood, and marsh reed roofing reinterpret vernacular elements through a modern architectural language inspired by the concept of Genius Loci — the spirit of the place.
Organized through interconnected volumes, the villa integrates living spaces, private areas, and a professional photography studio within a single architectural narrative. A professional 8×8 m cyclorama has been partially integrated into the ground to reduce its visual impact, while a rooftop basketball court recalls the client’s personal history. Wooden screens filter light throughout the day, transforming it into an active element of the design. Together with water harvesting systems, green roofs, and passive bioclimatic strategies, Villa Loïc becomes a dialogue between landscape, culture, and contemporary living.
